According to Lord Guy, he has been deceased for some time, but the Lannisters are keeping his death a secret in order to not appear weak to their foes.


A tall, aging man, whose hair has gone to grey, yet he refuses to stoop or so other signs of aging. Tywin has a reputation for cunning and brutality on the battlefield; the famous song The Rains of Castamere tells the story of his brutal destruction of a rival house when he was a still a young man.
